A new British Columbia Adult Flag Football League has been successfully launched, starting with a tournament Feb. 10 in Langley with 12 teams and more than 120 players from across the Lower Mainland.
“This year, along with the youth program for flag football, we will see mens 5v5, womens 5v5 and coed 7v7 teams battling it out each weekend,” shared Drew Kightley, White Rock South Surrey Titans Minor Football president in an email.
The launch tournament showcased the athleticism and camaraderie of the participants, and as the teams battled it out, spectators were treated to some extraordinary football action, with “dazzling plays and nail-biting finishes keeping everyone on the edge of their seats,” Kightley said, noting the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival and a live music DJ added to the event’s festivities.
