The Cloverdale Legion hosts an afternoon of live boxing this Sunday featuring local amateur boxers.

The Cloverdale Legion hosts an afternoon of live boxing this Sunday.

The memorial event is billed as a tribute to the late boxing official and coach Jimmy Gallagher.

A variety of amateur boxers will be taking part in a series of bouts.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 is located at 17567 57 Avenue.

It runs from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 24.

Admission is by donation.

It’s sponsored by the Cloverdale Legion, Penco Industries, Merle Harrop, Dean Bruckshaw, and BoxGym & Fitness Experts.
