A year ago, Devon Allaire-Bell was stabbed to death at Frank Hurt Secondary School.
While police have several leads and persons of interest, no arrests have yet been made.
Police are asking anyone with "specific or intimate" knowledge of the crime to call police.
It was April 24, 2011, when the 19 year old and his friend Jack Neilson were playing soccer and having a few beer at the 138 Street and 77 Avenue school.
They were approached by five IndoCanadian males, and an argument broke out. Knives were drawn and Neilson and Allaire-Bell were stabbed. Allaire-Bell died from his wounds, while Neilson suffered serious injuries, but has recovered.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says since the release of a video, they've had a flood of tips, and subsequently have persons of interest they have identified.
"Through the duration of the past year we know there are people who have talked about this homicide," IHIT Sgt. Jennifer Pound wrote in a release. "We need those people, who have specific and intimate details about this killing, to come forward to police.”
The family is marking the one-year anniversary with a vigil, which will be held Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Frank Hurt Secondary School at 13940 77 Ave.
