Police have identified the victim of a Langley homicide as 56-year-old Burnaby resident Robert Keith Green, a member of the Hells Angels.
Cpl. Meghan Foster of the regional Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) described Green as a "well-established member of an organized crime group ... we believe the Hells Angels."
Foster said the shooting was not believed to be random.
"The motive is unclear" at this time, Foster said.
Green was discovered seriously injured at a rural Langley Township address on 72 Avenue near 240 Street Sunday.
The homicide is not believed to be connected to a shooting incident later the same night that saw a man wounded in the empty parking lot of the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove.
Foster appealed to witnesses who fled the scene to step forward.
"IHIT is looking to identify the individuals who fled the scene as they may have imperative information, but also to ensure their safety isn't compromised."
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or Crime Stoppers online or by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
