Man dies after hitting power pole

Accident at King George Boulevard near 72 Avenue is still under investigation

A 23-year-old Surrey man is dead after his car collided with a power pole on the weekend.

On Sunday, at 5:20 a.m.,  the man was heading south on King George Boulevard, near 72 Avenue, when for reasons unclear, his black Saturn veered into a power pole.

He died at the scene.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time.

Potential factors of speed, alcohol and whether a seat belt was worn at the time are all being investigated, police say.
