Four men last seen in Metro Vancouver are on a newly issued list of most wanted criminals who are illegally in Canada but have so far dodged deportation.
The Canadian Border Services Agency issued the list of 32 immigrants who have all been convicted of criminal offences and face active warrants for deportation.
Indian-born Satpal Singh Jhatu, 43, convicted of the contract killing of a Matsqui woman in 1987, was last believed to be in Port Coquitlam.
Jhatu served two-thirds of a life sentence for first-degree murder after he beat to death and then burned the body of Ranjit Toore – the wife of his boss.
He was released from prison in 2004 on condition he would return to India, but never boarded his flight and has eluded authorities ever since.
Xiao Yu "Jackie" Wang, 19, of China, has a sexual assault conviction and last lived in Coquitlam.
Richmond is the last known address of Chinese-born Xun Zhang, 32, who has convictions for drug trafficking, assault, robbery, theft and conspiracy to produce a controlled substance.
Marcus Thomas Brown, 23, was last believed living in Vancouver and has past convictions on narcotic possession and weapon charges.
The Seattle-born U.S. citizen has a tear drop tattoo under the right eye, the letters 'LOVE' on the left knuckles, and the words "MYLEE" and "Hood Rich" tattooed on the left and right arms.
Both Zhang and Jhatu have also operated under various other aliases.
Federal officials estimate there are 2,700 foreign fugitives with criminal convictions in Canada who have so far escaped deportation.
