KPU greenhouses locked down, Langley police search for suspect

Lockdown lasted under an hour, no threat to staff or students

Staff and students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Langley campus greenhouses were in lockdown for under an hour Tuesday afternoon, April 16.

Langley RCMP arrived on campus at about 12:58 p.m. searching near the greenhouses for a suspect.

As of 1:20 p.m., police initiated the lockdown as a “precaution,” according to updates on the university’s website. Police searched the northeast side of the Langley Bypass.

The lockdown was lifted at 1:42 p.m., although police remain on scene.

The rest of the Langley campus was not impacted.
