From Sept. 15-17 it’ll be a busy weekend at Surrey’s Bell Performing Arts Centre, a stage for three nightly shows in a row starting Friday.

“Menopause The Musical 2: Cruising Through the Change” is up first, followed Saturday (Sept. 16) by a concert featuring Punjabi singer Kaka and a Sunday show by ABBA Revisited tribute band.

The “Menopause” sequel promises more laughs and songs about “the change” women endure in life.

Show time is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 at the Bell, where a touring production of the first “Menopause The Musical” played last October. The show has been a two-decade hit on stages around the world, including a long run at Harrah’s Las Vegas.

The story picks up five years after four ladies have their chance encounter in a department store. Audiences “set sail with our beloved ladies for tales of their lives, loves and losses as they set off on the high seas,” an event advisory explains.

The 90-minute musical, toured by Shaggy Pup Productions in partnership with GFour Productions, was launched last May in Ontario and will debut this month at theatres in Nanaimo, Victoria, Surrey, Mission and Kelowna.

The actors are Lorena Mackenzie (as “Soap Star”), Michelle E. White (“Professional Woman”), Sara Stahmer (“Earth Mother”) and Denise Oucharek (“Moose Jaw Housewife”).

“Menopause the Musical 2” features more parodies of popular songs, including “Please Mr. Postman,” “I Don’t Look Good Naked Anymore,” “Walk Like An Egyptian,” Lionel Richie’s “Three Times a Lady,” “I Will Survive,” “Disco Inferno,” Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and others.

Audiences should expect a “hilarious, heartfelt, reassuring and unflinching look at the joys of menopause and friendship — plus hot flashes, mood swings, and memory lapses.”

Meantime, ABBA Revisited is among several tribute shows booked at the Sullivan-area theatre. Tickets are $60 for the VaughnCo Entertainment-presented concert, which has toured the world since 2001 including stops in Las Vegas, Bermuda, Mexico, Dubai and Guatemala.
