A Lego exhibit is coming to the Museum of Surrey.

The Cloverdale museum is hosting “Everything is Still Awesome” from Oct. 17 to March 31 as the museum’s fall feature exhibit.

“Space and castle themes will be featured,” notes an entry on the museum’s website. “Plus a giant Lego world map with a climb-inside viewing bubble.”

The Lego exhibition is being put on in partnership with the Vancouver Lego Club.

“Connect with Lego past and present as the Museum of Surrey celebrates 20 years of VLC exhibits in 2023,” the webpost continues.

The Lego show’s theme is “Nostalgia” and will focus on the history of the Museum of Surrey’s exhibits. This will include old photos of shows and some Lego builds that recreate past museum exhibitions.

“See yourself in a Lego creation in a green screen video interactive,” the post continues, “or make your own creation at the building station.”

Personal Lego Builds

Personal Lego builds will also be part of the Museum of Surrey’s fall feature exhibit.

“Children are invited to build a Lego creation and have it displayed,” the webpost reveals.

The Lego-build contest will take place from Sept. 1 - 22. The contest has three age categories, 4-8, 9-12, and 13-17.

Winning Lego creations will be shown in the Museum of Surrey’s show and share display case, upstairs near the main hall, from Oct. 10 to Dec. 22.

Everything is Still Awesome opens Oct. 17 and runs until March 31, 2024.

The Museum of Surrey is located at 17710 56A Avenue. Entrance is free. To find out more info, contact the museum at 604-592-6956, or museum@surrey.ca, or visit surrey.ca/musuem.
