The sixth annual Tulips for Tomorrow campaign got underway last week.

More than 20,000 Princess Irene tulip bulbs will be planted this fall as part of the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation campaign.

All funds from 2013 bulb sales go to purchase life-saving equipment at the SMH Critical Care Tower, home to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Neurology Unit, Stroke program and new SMH emergency and pediatric emergency department.

A number of Surrey schools are joining the efforts this year, planting bulbs in their school grounds.

Spring sales of tulip displays are also part of the campaign.

Bulb packages are available in two sizes: 10 for $10 and five bulbs for $5. They're available at 99 Nursery and Florist at 9376 King George Highway, Art's Nursery at 8940 192 Street, Cloverdale Country Farms at 5688 168 Street, and at David Hunter Garden Centres at 15175 72 Avenue.
