Cloverdale, if you’re thirsty, help is at hand.

The five local 7-Eleven outlets are handing out 1,000 free Slurpees Monday, as part of an annual nation-wide giveaway.

In all, the popular convenience store chain expects to hand out 460,000 brain freeze-inducing Slurpees as part of its 42nd anniversary in Canada on July 11.

For the 12th year in a row, Manitoba has clinched the title of the Slurpee Capital of the World, selling the highest average number of cups per store in a region, although Calgary, southern Alberta and northwest Detroit are close on Manitoba’s heels.
