Naval veterans and merchant seamen were honoured in Cloverdale Sunday, when as many as 1,000 people helped mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic.
Mariners and Navy League Cadets marched from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 to the Cenotaph for the May 5 ceremony recognizing those who maintained shipping supply lines during the Second World War.
