Look for her at Saturday's parade, and at the Stetson Bowl later that day, when she'll be singing the national anthem at the 7 p.m. rodeo performance.

It'll be a busy weekend for the Fleetwood Park Secondary student and Miss Teen Canada World hopeful, who started a youth advocacy program at her school and has devoted time to student council and choir.

Pilcher, 17, will be giving speeches and performing in the Kidz Zone today (Friday from 4:30-5 p.m.), Saturday (5 to 5:30 p.m.) and Sunday (2-3 p.m. and from 5-5:30 p.m.).

She'll be emceeing the Live Youth stage Friday and Sunday evening, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Alice McKay building.

Pilcher is also a musician and songwriter who hosts a local cable show.

Miss Teen Canada World contestants are chosen based on public speaking skills, grace and poise, interview skills, talents and abilities and their impact on the community.

About 60 finalists from across the country will compete for the national title in July. Pilcher's cause of choice is Free the Children.
