Meet retired race horses like this one Sunday

The Standardbred Horse Fan Club invites kids and their families – and anyone who loves horses – to come out and meet rescued, off-track horses this weekend in Maple Ridge.

The Club is hosting an educational meet and greet Sunday, July 10 in celebration of 2016 Canada Standardbred Horse and Kids Day.

Mingle with these friendly rescue horses, pose for free photos, meet Hamlet the pot bellied pig, enjoy mini tractor rides and more.

It’s at the Epona equestrian facility at 12266 240 Street (barn) in Maple Ridge, from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 per family. Proceeds help support the rescue and rehabilitation of horses. For more information, visit www.standardbredfanclub.com
