The West Coast Lumberjack Show is back at the Cloverdale Rodeo this year.
The popular event will be held outside and is free with admission to the rodeo grounds.
The lumberjack show has been entertaining fair-goers for more than 40 years. The event was first showcased at the 1982 Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair.
“The lumberjack show is back again this year,” noted Kathy Sheppard, president of the Cloverdale Rodeo Association. “They are a crowd favourite. They will be set up in the CR Corral next to the Lordco Outdoor Stage.”
Sheppard said this “unique” type of sports entertainment is “can’t miss.”
The event features some of the best professional lumberjacks in the province. The competitors will be take part in a number of events showcasing their strength, speed, and skill.
The “action-packed, high-energy entertainment” will thrill audiences over multiple shows across all four days of Rodeo Weekend.
The high-speed logger sport events include: hot saw race, axe throwing, log rolling, standing block chop, chainsaw carving, a cross-cut sawing race, and more.
The West Coast Lumberjack Show will feature nine performances: Friday, May 17 @ 5:45 p.m.; Saturday, May 18 @ 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m.; Sunday, May 19 @ 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m.; and Monday, May 20 @ 12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
