Saturday afternoon meat draws at B’s Public House in Cloverdale have helped raise thousands of dollars for charity, thanks to support from the public and the Cloverdale Lions Club.

Together, pub patrons and the Cloverdale Lions have raised more than $14,500 since the weekly meat draws began in December 2012.

This summer, the Lions Club presented a $10,000 donations to the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Children’s Cancer Clinic.

Representatives Pavan Bahia, Yolanda Bouwman and Tiffany Buttler were on hand to accept the donation on behalf of Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Volunteers from the Cloverdale Lions Club have played a huge role in the meat draw’s success, including Brian Busby, Bruno Zappone, Ian Forbes, Mike Grace, Terry Riley, Kal Archer and Shaz Vrecko.

The draws are held at B’s, located at 5855 176A Street, every Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., with draw times at 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5 p.m., when there’s an $80 “Monster Pack” as an added prize.

All of the meat is supplied by Dickison’s Meat and Deli in Langley.
