The Delta Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline for nominating local businesses for the 2023 Business Excellence Awards.

The public now has until Friday, Sept. 15 to submit their nominations at deltachamber.ca.

Since 1951, the Delta Chamber of Commerce has recognized outstanding community members and businesspersons at the Business Excellence Awards (formerly Hats Off to Excellence Awards) Gala. Long considered to be the premiere business event of the year in Delta, the awards gala evening is a high‐profile, prestigious event to honour the businesses, organizations and individuals making a difference in Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation.

Honourees are chosen based on the criteria of professional accomplishments, leadership, initiative and community involvement, and award finalists and recipients will be celebrated at the 72nd annual gala, happening on Friday, Nov. 17 at Tsawwassen Springs.

“We’re incredibly excited to be celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the Delta Chamber’s Excellence Awards. This is an awesome opportunity to recognize the incredible contributions of our business leaders in Delta and celebrate their contributions to our amazing communities,” Jill McKnight, executive director of the Delta Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release.

“A special thank you goes to the event’s presenting sponsor, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, for their generous support of the Business Excellence Awards Gala.”

This year’s awards will be handed out in seven categories: Rising Star Business, Small Business of the Year, Medium Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Community Impact, Business of the Year, and Citizen of the Year.
