We are delighted to announce that the Cloverdale Reporter is the recipient of a national newspaper award in recognition of our 2013 Christmas edition.

Christmas In Cloverdale is a winner in the Best Holiday Edition category, circulation 12,500 and over (third place) in the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.

The CCNAs cover 30 categories honouring outstanding editorial, photography, multimedia and overall excellence in community newspaper publishing.

The 2014 competition involved 2,688 entries from 273 publications from across Canada.

The Reporter came in third, after the Goldstream News Gazette and the Surrey Now.

It’s The Reporter’s first CCNA and we couldn’t be more proud. It was a team effort, involving work by editor Jennifer Lang, ad representative Cynthia Dunsmore, and former designer Marla Poirier, along with contributing writers, images courtesy of the Surrey Archives, and the support of our advertisers. The 18-page section ran in our Nov. 28, 2013 edition, which was one of our largest papers last year.

The Cloverdale Reporter is also a finalist in the 2014 Ma Murray Awards, presented by the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association, in the category of best collaborative ad design.
