Burglaries prompt warning to Cloverdale businesses

Thieves are cutting back gates and enclosures to gain entry to property in storage areas, Surrey RCMP tells businesses.

Cloverdale’s businesses are being warned of recent burglaries in the historic downtown.

Thieves are cutting back gates and enclosures to gain entry to property in storage areas, Staff Sgt. Martin Blais, the Surrey RCMP’s South Zone commander, warned in a Heads Up! Alert issued Monday.

The alert reminded business owners to report suspicious activities and people in the area to police. Those wanting to improve security on their premises are welcome to ask for a walk-around with Community Safety Officers.

The alerts are a joint program with the Cloverdale BIA and the Surrey RCMP.
