Three young Surrey athletes were named among all-stars at Water Polo Canada’s 15U western national championships, played at Guildford Aquatic Centre from May 3-5.

The three-day tournament in Surrey saw Fraser Valley win the boys division and Calgary Renegades, girls.

All-Star Teams members were selected following a vote by the team coaches who attended the 2024 NCL 15U western and eastern national championships, which were held in Markham, Ontario.

Western all-stars include Surrey players Jackson Culbreath and Neil Zhou on the boys side and Sofia Ushakova in the girls division. The tournament’s other 11 all-stars are listed on waterpolo.ca.

The 15U championships are part of Water Polo Canada’s National Championship League (NCL), created in 2014 to bring the domestic club age-group programs under a country-wide umbrella as part of a goal to promote the development of the sport. The NCL’s three categories of play are Senior, 17U and 15U.

Games played in Guildford from May 3-5 can be watched on Water Polo Canada’s Youtube Channel (@WaterPoloCanadaTV).
