Surrey edges out Cloverdale for hockey championships

The Surrey Thunder have won the B.C. Midget Tier 1 hockey championships, edging out Cloverdale Colts 4-3 in a close game last night in Nanaimo.

The Surrey Thunder have won the B.C. Midget Tier 1 hockey championships, edging out Cloverdale Colts 4-3 in a close game last night in Nanaimo.

Surrey managed an early 4-0 lead, but the Colts were able to close the gap with three goals by the middle of the third period.

The Colts scored goals by David Rudin, Ravind Rana and Brandon Livingston. Livingston also delivered one assist.

Colt goalie Braden Krogfoss was another standout, dealing with 34 attempts on goal during the game at the Nanaimo Ice Centre March 23.
