UPDATE: Surrey RCMP have found missing 69-year-old Afghanistani man

Abdulmajeed Jafarzada is new to Canada and doesn’t speak English, police say

UPDATE: Police have now found the missing man.

SURREY – Police hope the public can help them find a “high risk” man who is missing.

Surrey RCMP say Abdulmajeed Jafarzada, 69, was last seen at 9 a.m. on June 20th in the 9000-block of 146A Street.

Jafarzada, who is new to Canada, has not been seen or heard from since.

Jafarzada is described as a five feet seven inches tall, 160-pound man who is from Afghanistan. He has short grey hair.

Surrey RCMP say he does not speak English but is fluent in Farsi.

Police and his family are concerned for his well-being because he is not familiar with the area and it is unusual for him to be gone this long.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or solvecrime.ca, quoting file number 2017-83234.
