KPU announces new executive director of advancement

Steve Lewarne makes the move to KPU, bringing 15 years of experience fundraising, business development and relationship development.

Steve Lewarne is the new executive director of advancement at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He's also the new CEO of the KPU Foundation.

Cloverdale’s Steve Lewarne is making the move from Simon Fraser University to Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey.

Lewarne joins KPU as its executive director of advancement, a role that will also see him serve as CEO of the KPU Foundation, the university announced Wednesday.

Lewarne brings 15 years of diverse experience in fundraising, business development and relationship management to the job.

He served most recently with the director of advancement for SFU’s athletics and recreation department.

Before that, he worked with the Arts Club in Vancouver to raise corporate sponsorships for the Stanley Theatre.

The KPU Foundation is a non-profit raises funds to support students through scholarships and awards. It’s also responsible for building community and corporate partnerships that assist students, support faculty and fund research, along with major university initiatives.
