Fake snow on windows and shiny, bright lights
Hot dogs and cookies and cold winter nights
Wreaths and red berries and all things evergreen,
Don’t forget fastpitch in your favourite things
For lovers of Christmas, plants and softball, the place to be this Saturday (Nov. 25) is at Potters – also known as the Christmas Store – in South Surrey.
That’s when White Rock Renegades ‘11 fastpitch softball team will be at the festively decorated store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosting a hot dog fundraiser to help them raise money for tournament fees, facility rentals for training, uniforms and other costs.
With Black Friday being the day before, the team is hoping there will be some hungry shoppers at Potters, located at 19158 48 Ave., Surrey.
“We have a fantastic group of talent and committed young athletes who are poised for another strong season on our Renegades team. The girls are excited to welcome guests at their hot dog sale, while shopping at Potters,” said coach Shawn Olson.
“Money raised will help with much-needed funds to support the team with various fees associated with playing on a high-performance team, including competing in some travel tournaments in the U.S.
“We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!”

With hot dogs, veggie dogs, drinks – including water, canned drinks and hot chocolate – cookies and bags of chips, Potters shoppers can order items separately, or in a couple different combo options, with prices ranging from $2 to $7 ($7 is for a hot dog, drink of choice and a bag of chips).
“We are so grateful to have the opportunity to play as a team with the same purpose and goal, which is to compete, play hard and have fun,” said Renegades ‘11 player Sekoia Hippsley.
“(We’re) glad to have the support of our community and Potters to help us raise money for our development and upcoming tournaments.”
