This weekend, the most competitive roller derby teams in the west are set to battle it out in Cloverdale.

The West Coast Dust Up July 13 and 14 at the Cloverdale Curling Club is the biggest event of the season for the Mainland Misfits roller derby league.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., first whistle at 9 a.m., second game at 11 a.m., and third game at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There will be four teams playing round robin, with three games a day, over two days.

The competition includes Cloverdale’s own Anarchy Angels, Vancouver’s Terminal City All Stars, the Red Deer Bella Donnas, and the Thompson Okanagan All Star Team.

Tickets are $15 a day (available at the door.) Kids 12 and under are free.

Organizers say if you don’t know anything about roller derby, there’s no better place to start than right here.
