Surrey gymnasts bring home medals

Surrey gymnasts scored big at the B.C. Winter Games in Vernon over the weekend.

Surrey gymnasts scored big at the B.C. Winter Games in Vernon over the weekend.

Hayley Biggin, a student at Martha Currie Elementary in Cloverdale, earned gold, silver and bronze at the Greater Vernon 2012 B.C. Winter Games.

The 10-year-old's gold came for her performance on the beam, the silver in all-around competition, and earned the bronze in floor.

Her Zone 3 (Fraser Valley) teammate Allyson Armstrong, 9, won gold in vault, bronze on the bars, and placed fourth in all-around competition.

Jordanne Dunbar won gold on the uneven bars.

Fraser Valley gymnasts (Biggin, Armstrong, Dunbar and Deandra McNaught) claimed gold in the B.C. Winter Games women's team gymnastics competition. Squamish took silver.

Deandra McNaught, Abby Strand, Madisen Whelband, also took part.

Surrey's Duncan Losin earned gold for gymnastics male team (with Aidan Page), and two bronzes: rings and parallel bars.
