Carol Skanks, second from right, of Maple Ridge is the inaugural recipient of the Jim Gallagher Memorial Trophy, an award created to honour volunteer contributions to the world of amateur boxing in B.C. Gallagher was a long time amateur boxing official and coach in Cloverdale.
The trophy that carries his name was presented June 23 at the Cloverdale Legion at Branch 6’s annual amateur boxing tournament.
