Locals win seniors curling event

The Cloverdale Masters Curling Club held their annual bonspiel from Jan 3 to Jan 5. Twenty-four teams participated including rinks from Chilliwack, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Peace Arch (White Rock), Tunnel Town (Delta),Thistle (North Delta) and four Cloverdale entries.

Entry criteria required that all curlers be at least 60 years old and male.

Five daytime games were played and the Cloverdale team of Don England, skip; Mike Sullivan, third; Earl Hansford, second; and Rick Klassen, lead; were winners.

All enjoyed a delicious lunch at the wind-up on Wednesday, good fellowship and a great source of exercise.
