A Coquitlam team has won the masters Cloverdale bonspiel.

The first Master's bonspiel of the year ended Jan. 4, 2012 with the Dangerfield team from Coquitlam taking top honors.

Twenty-four teams from Cloverdale, Chilliwack, White Rock, Langley, Tswassen, Coquitlam, and Richmond competed in the three-day event.

The team of Wayne Dangerfield (skip), Doug Turner (third), Vic Foisy (second) and Don Iwanka (lead) headed the field with four wins.

Second place was the Ernie Wah team from Langley and in third place, the Doug Spencer team from White Rock.

The Master's classification is for men aged 60 years and over – bonspiel attendees ranged from 60 to 86 years of age. Don England, Bonspiel Chairman, presented the prizes and said, "It was a good start for the year and a good time was had by all."
