The true fans helped clean mess

To the editor;

My name is Nalin Dhillon, and I am making an attempt to clear up part of Vancouver’s now shameful reputation.

I am a proud Vancouverite, and while I was hoping for a Stanley Cup victory, I was still appalled at the riots which occurred last Wednesday night.

I wanted to point out that these were definitely a minority of hooligans who do not represent the city well.

The true fans in fact were the ones who remained in Rogers

Arena even after the game ended, gave the Canucks a standing ovation, and even cheered for Tim Thomas when he received the Conn Smythe trophy.

In addition, thousands of Canuck supporters and genuine Vanouverites showed up bright and early in the downtown core Thursday morning to assist with the cleanup efforts.

We are all ashamed with the riots, but hope that it will not scar our beautiful city’s name for much longer.
