Longtime resident of Surrey Centre, Sullivan and White Rock, Blackie passed away early Sunday, Feb 21st, with close family by his side.
Predeceased by his first wife Marilyn (Johnston) Harper, sons Mark and Blake, and second wife Marcella (Blohm) Little. Survived by daughter Paula Haskins, sister Elayne (Bruce) Harger, brother Wayne (Betty) Knowles, stepchildren Sandra (Ron), Jerry (Rochelle) and Michael Throssell, and their families.
As a young man Blackie boxed, played lacrosse, and football for the Surrey Rams. Among other interesting careers he was a long time volunteer firefighter at Hall 9 Sullivan, operated a farm in Surrey, owned horses at Cloverdale Raceway and managed security and facilities at the Cloverdale Exhibition grounds. In retirement, Blackie and Marcie made several cross-country trips through Canada and the USA, traveled to Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands and Macau.

Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. No service by his request. Interment will be at the beautiful Little Mountain Cemetery in Chilliwack, with Marcie,
