Update: Surrey RCMP confirmed Wednesday (Aug. 8) morning that Subeehah Buksh has been located and is in the care of a family member.

Previous story:

A girl reported missing on the weekend has been in daily contact with her boyfriend, police say.

Subeehah Buksh, 13, lives with her uncle and was reported missing by him on July 28.

Her uncle was mad at her for ringing up a huge cell phone bill while visiting friends in Calgary. It's not the first time she's run away from home.

However, police and family were concerned for her safety, given her age and the length of time she's been gone.

Police now says she is not missing, just avoiding being found.

"We're getting limited cooperation from her boyfriend saying `yeah, she texts me every day,' " said RCMP Sgt. Drew Grainger.

Despite the fact they believe she is okay, police continue to ask for help finding her.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this person is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP Missing persons Unit at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they wish to remain anonymous.
