It's been a dangerous morning on the roads in Cloverdale and the Surrey-Langley border, where Surrey RCMP are dealing with two separate crashes that occurred just minutes apart, and have seriously injured two people.

A motorist sustained serious, life-threatening injuries at 7:30 a.m. after colliding with the back end of a dump truck in the 15800-block of 64 Avenue, according to a press release.

Ten minutes later, a pedestrian was struck in another collision in the 5400-block of 192 Street. The pedestrian also has serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking motorists to take alternate routes in order to avoid the  scenes of both crashes. The Surrey RCMP's collision analysis and reconstruction teams are expected to be on the scene for several more hours.
