A 15-year-old from Surrey has been arrested and is facing criminal charges in connection with a series of cell phone store robberies earlier this year.

The four daytime robberies took place in March and April in the Newton and City Centre neighbourhoods.

The teen male, who cannot be named because he is a minor, has been charged with four counts of robbery.

Surrey RCMP said while the arrest is good news for local businesses, the investigation remains active and more arrests may be made.

“Our officers are now focusing their efforts on bringing further criminal charges against other persons believed to be involved in these offences,” said Cpl. Bert Paquet of the Surrey RCMP.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP Robbery Section at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477.
