Surrey RCMP seek car theft suspects

Mounties are asking for public help in identifying two men believed to have stolen cars this month.

Surrey RCMP are looking to identify these men

Surrey Mounties want public assistance in finding the suspects in two separate car robberies.

On Sunday Oct. 5, at about 5:20 p.m., two male suspects robbed two different victims of their vehicles.

In the first incident, a man allegedly used a weapon to take a Honda Prelude at a gas station located in the 13500-block of 88 Avenue.

One of the suspects assaulted the driver of the Honda Prelude before the driver got out of the vehicle. The suspect males drove the car to Fraser Highway and 96 Avenue, where they pulled in front of a Ford Expedition and stole that vehicle.

The two males then drove the second stolen vehicle to Lougheed Mall in Burnaby where they were seen getting out of the Expedition and into a taxi.

Video surveillance from the taxi cab shows the suspects.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male, late 30’s, approximately 6’0″ with a medium build, short blond hair and blue eyes. The second man is described as Caucasian, mid 30’s, approximately 5’10” with a slim build, brown hair and blue eyes.

A number of investigative steps have been taken including multiple witness interviews, retrieval of forensic evidence, video surveillance, and possible persons and vehicles of interest, however the suspects have yet to be identified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP Robbery Section at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
