Surrey motorcyclist airlifted after accident

Head-on collision on Wednesday saw a motorcycle cleaved and rider thrown 30 feet

A motorcyclist is expected to survive slamming head on into a minivan in Cloverdale.

On Wednesday, at about 10:30 a.m., the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Highway 10 near 181 Street, when it collided with an oncoming Chevy Venture minivan.

The rider was thrown 30 feet and the bike was severed in two.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital where he is in serious, but not life-threatening condition.

Highway 10 between 180 Street and 184 Street was expected to be shut down until 3 p.m. Wednesday.
