A Surrey man has been arrested and charged for allegedly forcing his hand between a woman's legs on the SkyTrain.

At 6:50 p.m. on  Thursday, April 14, a young woman boarded the SkyTrain at Surrey Central Station. A man got on at Gateway station, sat in front of her and began staring at her, repeatedly telling her she was pretty.

The woman took a photo of him.

He allegedly tried to force his hand between her legs and she pushed him away.

He continued to stare at her until he left at Columbia station in New Westminster.

She told an attendant what happened, and the attendant called Transit Police. Police later arrested David Evan Ramsey, 60, who was previously known to police.

Ramsey has been charged with sexual assault, has appeared in court and has been released on conditions that he not use SkyTrain, except between Surrey Central and Columbia stations.

His next court appearance is scheduled for April 27 in New Westminster Provincial Court at 11 a.m.
