A 23-year-old man from Surrey has been arrested after three stabbings in Vancouver Saturday.

At about 11 p.m., Vancouver police responded to a report a stabbing on Keefer Street and Taylor near Vancouver's Downtown East Side.

When police arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent stab wound to the abdomen.

He was rushed to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

As police continued their search for the suspect, they found him on the street in front of the McDonalds on Pender Street at Abbott. He was taken into custody by police without incident.

A second victim was found inside the McDonalds suffering from slash wounds to her hands. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A short time later, a third victim was found in the Unit block of West Pender Street, suffering from an apparent slash wound to his neck. That victim, a 54-year-old man from Vancouver, was also taken to hospital with

non-life-threatening injures. All three stabbings appear to be related.

The Surrey man is facing multiple assault and weapons-related charges.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and the Forensic Identification Unit have been called out and they will be at all three crime scenes.

It is early in the investigation and the motive for these violent attacks are unknown.
