A snowfall warning is in effect across many cities in B.C., including the Lower Mainland, Sea-to-Sky Highway, and the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.
In a set of alerts issues at 11:30 a.m., Environment Canada reports residents on the North Vancouver Island and Central Coast can expect winds up to 90 kilometres per hour Monday afternoon.
"High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds," the report warns.
The Lower Mainland, including inland areas, including eastern Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and inland Vancouver Island can expect anywhere from 2 cm to 20 cm of snow which will turn into rain in the evening.

For those travelling today or tomorrow from the Central Interior or Nicola region, Environment Canada reports up to 25 cm of snow to fall today, between Hope and Merritt and on stretches of the Fraser Canyon.
"Snow will intensify this evening as the storm tracks inland tonight. In the wake of the system, a southwesterly flow aloft will continue to give snow through Tuesday," Environment Canada says.
Motorists travelling in-and-out of the Okanagan and Shuswap can expect winter driving conditions on Highway, 1, 3, 6, 6EW, 33, 97, 97C, Westside Road and the Coquihalla.
Snow tires are mandatory, and using chains may be in effect on certain stretches of both routes.
