Surrey RCMP volunteers will become a familiar sight in Cloverdale over the next few weeks as they hit the streets and survey more than 240 local businesses.

The survey is intended to assess public perception of crime and identify where and in what way crime prevention strategies and information could best be shared in future RCMP programs.

The survey is eight questions long and takes about five minutes to complete. It will be conducted from Jan. 23 to Feb. 3.

The collected information will be compared against what the Surrey RCMP has already collected on reported crimes and contribute to the development of RCMP programs in 2017.
