Would-be residents of a Murrayville condo project are upset after further delays in construction have stretched their wait to move in by a total of 15 months.

As of the week of July 11, residents had still not moved in.
“People’s lives are on hold,” said Fred West.
He and his wife Terri bought their unit in September of 2015. It was to be ready for occupation around March or April of 2016.
“We were okay with that, because we were still in our house at the time,” said Terri.
But their house sold, they went south for the winter, and came back to no permanent residence.
Since then, the Wests have lived in 11 different locations. They’ve spent time housesitting and living with friends and family.
“We would have rented a condo had we known it would be a year,” said Terri.
First-time home buyer Colton Somerville bought his unit in February, an assignment sale from a previous purchaser.
“We were told that they should be finished in February,” he said.
Fortunately, he’s been able to stay in his rental home for now.
He’s not happy with the delay, and claims the developer at developer Newmark have not been forthcoming with information.
“We did an inspection Friday, [July 7] and identified a number of code-related items that had to do with health and safety,” said Robert Cesaretti, Langley Township’s manager of permit, licence, and inspection services.
Contractors will have to deal with those issues, and then there will be another inspection. The further inspection has not yet been scheduled.
“There was a handful of little things that they identified,” said Newmark director of operations James Cronk. He said he expected a fire department inspection this Thursday.
He expected final sign off later in the week.
