The provincial government has announced $250,240 in skills training funding for KPU, enabling the university to expand the number of seats at the university's Cloverdale campus, home to its Faculty of Trades and Technology.

The campus will offer 16 new seats in each of the following programs: carpentry, electrical, millwright and parts and warehousing.

The announcement is part of a one-time $1.7 million skills and training plan that's creating nearly 360 seats at 10 post secondary institutions in B.C.

Kwantlen trains apprentices in automotive mechanical repair, automotive parts, bricklaying, cement mason, industrial engines and equipment parts, industrial warehousing, millwright, welding, upholstery, carpentry and farrier. The campus also offers public safety communications 9-1-1 and drafting programs.
