Arrest in Whalley convenience store robbery

Surrey RCMP are looking for this suspect in a convenience store robbery.

Surrey RCMP advises that an arrest and charge has been laid against one of the suspects involved in a convenience store robbery that occurred last month.

On March 31 at approximately 3:40 a.m., Surrey RCMP attended a robbery at a convenience store in the 13100-block of 104 Avenue.

Two male suspects entered the store with a knife and made off with a large quantity of cigarettes. The suspects fled northbound on 132 Street. The cashier was not injured.

The Integrated Police Dog Services was deployed, however, the suspects were not located. The Integrated Forensic Identification Unit collected physical evidence at the scene.

Bishop Francies,18, of Surrey, has been charged with one count of robbery. He remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

Surrey RCMP’s Robbery Unit continues to investigate and follow up on information that could lead to the identification of the second suspect in this incident.

This suspect is described as a light-skinned male in his 20s, wearing a black Under Armour hoodie with a white logo on left chest, black track pants with white stripes, and black shoes with white soles.
