Get ready for one of the most electrifying sporting events of the summer as the 2025 Canada Cup Women’s International Softball Championship returns to Softball City in Surrey from July 4 to 13, bringing together more than 1,500 of the world’s top fastpitch athletes.
Renowned as one of the premier women’s softball tournaments in the world, the Canada Cup has become a must-watch international event that blends elite-level sport with unshakable community pride. For over three decades, this world-class competition has drawn national teams, professional clubs and Olympic hopefuls to Surrey for a week of fast-paced, unforgettable action.
“The Canada Cup is more than just a tournament,” says Greg Timm, Chair of the Canada Cup. “It’s where future Olympic stars take the stage, where nations collide on the diamond, and where fans get a front-row seat to the highest level of international fastpitch.”
This year’s lineup features national programs and elite teams from around the globe, including Canada, New Zealand, Czechia, Netherlands, Ukraine, Greece, Israel, as well as U.S. powerhouses TC Colorado and SoCal Sting.

Coming off an undefeated run and gold-medal performance at last year’s tournament, Team Canada returns to the diamond with a strong mix of veteran leadership and new talent, aiming to defend their title on home soil. This year’s roster features eight athletes from British Columbia including Victoria’s Peyton Bryden and Emma Entzminger, Maple Ridge native Larissa Franklin, Surrey’s Kianna Jones and Grace Messmer, Abbotsford local Callum Pilgrim, Langley’s Morgan Reimer and Port Coquitlam’s CC Wong.
“These B.C. athletes represent the strength and depth of softball in the province,” says Head Coach Kaleigh Rafter. “Having them compete at an elite international event like the Canada Cup, right here at home, is an incredible opportunity, not just for them, but for the next generation of players watching from the stands.”
Team Canada will hit the ground running on Tuesday, July 8, opening their tournament with a doubleheader against New Zealand at 6 p.m. and Ukraine at 8:30 p.m. They’ll return to face Team BC (1 p.m.) and Czechia (6:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, July 9, before wrapping up round-robin play against the always-competitive SoCal Sting on Thursday, July 10 at 6 p.m.
The Opening Ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 5 p.m., offering a vibrant welcome to the international athletes and local fans alike.
Playoffs run July 11 to 13, with the Gold Medal Game taking place on Sunday, July 13 at 6 p.m. setting up an electrifying conclusion to nine days of top-tier competition.
“Each summer, we see softball fans from across the country – and around the world – come together in Surrey,” Timm adds. “It’s that sense of shared passion and energy that makes the Canada Cup so special. This year’s tournament is shaping up to be one of our best ever.”
