A charity lunch on Sunday, Nov. 17, continues a pre-Christmas tradition in Surrey.
Some young "Christmas Elves" are hosting an annual spaghetti lunch at Bozzini's Restaurant in Whalley to collect cash and toys for Surrey Christmas Bureau.
The gathering is billed as "a perfect blend of good food, community spirit and holiday giving," from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at 13655 104 Ave, just east of King George Boulevard. Tickets are $20 at the door, or $10 for kids 12 and under.
Beginning in 2014 with just two "elves," the event has grown each year, raising more than $10,000 and collecting countless toys for Surrey Christmas Bureau.
In addition to the lunch, a silent auction offers attendees a chance to bid on items.
"This support directly helps families in need by stocking the Christmas Bureau Toy Depot with toys, ensuring every child has a gift to open for the holidays," according to event co-planner Bonnie Burnside.
"It’s a wonderful way to connect with the community, spread holiday cheer, and make a meaningful difference for local families. If you're able to join, consider attending with unwrapped toys in hand or participating in the silent auction to help make this season a little brighter for everyone."
