The Arts Council of Surrey is hosting a "pop-up" postcard sale and exhibit to raise funds for a scholarship program for Surrey Festival of Dance Society.
Art-filled postcards will be sold for $10 each during a one-day sale Saturday, Feb. 1 at Newton Cultural Centre, 13530 72 Ave.
This month, the arts council collected small artworks created by artists, community members, etc., in the size of a postcard, 4x6 inches, explained Cory Woodcock, administrative.
""If people can't submit postcards, we'd love to see them at the sale, helping to support local young athlete's dreams," he said earlier this month.
"All of the submitted postcard artworks will be on display starting at 2 p.m. on Feb 1, if you want the chance to look through the full exhibit before the 'sales floor' opens. The sale will begin promptly at 3 p.m., and continue until 5 p.m. It will be first come, first served, and staff will be ready to take payment, so be here on time or you could miss out on something special. We will be having some light refreshments as well."

Also, the arts council has issued a call for Arts 2025, a juried exhibition of visual arts held annually at Surrey Art Gallery, May to July. The deadline for submissions is March 28, with entry details on artscouncilofsurrey.ca.
