Student scientists from Surrey and Delta ready for national competition

Sreya Kurup from, Surrey, left Prabhleen Kaur Randhawa from Delta, Vaishnavi Verma and Antony Zhang from Surrey, Miyo Macario from Delta, Omar Imrani from Surrey, Ryan Huang from Delta and Chase Wang from Surrey will present their projects at the Canada Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, NB this May and June.

Students from schools in Surrey and Delta came together for the South Fraser Regional Science Fair at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Newton campus April 15- 16.

The founding committee member, Karen Morley, said 125 students in grades 7-12 from 27 Surrey and Delta public and independent schools participated.

This year, 100 projects were presented, with some projects having two students working on them. The top 8, selected by a team of judges, will attend Canada-Wide Science Fair in the spring.

The Canada-Wide Science Fair will be livestreamed online at cwsf.youthscience.ca.
