PHOTOS: Dog days of summer not over yet in South Surrey

Local canines, guardians celebrate Crescent Beach re-opening to four-legged friends

The dogs days of summer aren't anywhere near over in Crescent Beach.

They certainly weren't on Tuesday, when a handful of local residents with four-legged family members celebrated being able to walk their dogs along the South Surrey's beach's popular waterfront walkway.

Because dogs aren't allowed from May 15 to Sept. 15, several dog guardians held an impromptu "Back to the Beach" dress-up dog gathering, with their canines sporting pretty bows, a nautical-themed collar attachment and stripes, with one even dressed as a bylaw enforcement officer.

Participants – and their charges – were all visibly happy to be able to enjoy the beach's walkway and views again while getting their exercise.
