Lottery's South Surrey prize home 'most expensive ever'

VGH Millionaire Lottery proceeds support research, innovation, treatment

A high-end home in South Surrey is among grand-prize packages up for grabs in this year's VGH Millionaire Lottery.

Located in Ocean Park, at 12676 25 Ave., the 4,456-sq.-ft., five-bedroom, six-bathroom home is "the most luxurious and expensive Grand Prize ever offered in VGH Millionaire Lottery history," a news release issued Friday (Oct. 18) announcing ticket sales proclaims.

Valued at more than $3.3 million, the home "sets the standard for those who love to entertain," the release states.

"The double garage is EV-ready – plus this home has parking space for six cars, and comes with $100,000 cash for furnishings and accessories."

The lottery supports VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, with all proceeds going to help fund state-of-the-art equipment, research, and innovative treatment options offered at Vancouver General Hospital, UBC Hospital, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute and Vancouver Community Health Services.

"The proceeds from the lottery will directly support life-saving care at British Columbia’s largest hospital, helping doctors, nurses, staff, and the patients at VGH receive the best possible care,” Todd Talbot, lottery spokesperson, said in the release.

Since 1996, the lottery has raised more than $90 million.

The grand-prize winner will get to choose from 10 prize packages; one of nine homes, or $2.8 million tax-free cash.

Tickets – 2 for $100, 5 for $175, 10 for $300 or 25 for $600 – are on sale until midnight, Jan. 10, 2025, or until sold out.
