Crimson Crescendo returns to Peninsula Productions' studio theatre at Centennial Park for another of the Gossamer Glow series on March 2.
The post-modern classical trio is composed of keyboardist Bruce Petherick, violinist Monika Niedzelko and bassist and guitarist Peter Koyander. Their candlelit concert, cryptically entitled 100+1, will be at the intimate theatre for two shows that day, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
"We are officially one year old as a trio," explained Koyander.
"To celebrate and mark this occasion, we have been looking at music composed in and around 1925 as well as the past year – there's a reason for the 100-year gap that we will explain at the concert!"
As ever, he said, the trio likes to keep its music fresh, unique and exclusive.
"You won't hear our music anywhere else," he noted.
The upcoming concert program offers music that they are particularly excited to share – including work by Villa-Lobos, Godowski, Bartok, Shostakovich, Chopin (the trio's arrangement of his Lost Waltz — only discovered in 2024) and Billie Eilish.
"Plus we'll also have the 'world premiere' of a beautifully atmospheric piece specially composed for the concert by our pianist Bruce," Koyander added.
The theatre is next to Centennial Arena at the park, 14600 North Bluff Rd.
